The 2008/09 season proved to be very hard following promotion to the top Division of the Torbay Sunday League.
The Season started with dificulty loosing the opening league game 5-1 to Jackz FC (eventually relegated). The Vic were bottom of the league for a few weeks until the fightback started. The first league win came at home to AC Molloys (also relegated) in October - that result lifted the Vic off the foot of the table - replaced by Molloys.
As the season progressed there was a clear divide in the league between the top four clubs and the bottom four. Newton Orient held 5th place for majority of the season leaving the Vic, Jackz and Molloys to battle it out at the bottom. The Vic did manage to beat Applebys and Artful Dodger in the league which helped, along with winning 2 of the 3 games vs Newton Orient, claim 5th position at the end of the season well clear of relegation.
The Vic did not progress past the first round of both cup competitions entered into but did win the Challenge Shield - seaon opener vs Appleby's in August 2009.
A remarkable season was capped by winning the Torbay Sunday League Division 2 title, having gone the whole season unbeaten in the league.
Also so close to cup sucess although a loss in the Devon Supplementary Cup final vs Stuart Social and a Semi final defeat on penalties vs the Royal Standard in the Torbay Supplementary Cup ended any chances of a cup this season.
The other competition the Bill Matthews Cup saw a early defeat vs the Half Moon (1st's).
This season has been a giant leap from last year and with Division 1 football to look forward to next campaign - Come on the Vic!
2007/08 Devon Supplementary Cup Finalists (06/04/08)
The Victoria managed to beat some quality opposition to reach the final of the 2007/08 Devon Supplementary Cup only to loose 3-1 to Stuart Social of the Plymouth & West Devon CFL. 6/4/08 Coach Raod, Newton Abbot.

The Red Lion FC changed establishments and became known as the Victoria Inn FC for the start of the 2007/08 Season and the team started to play their home games at Chuley Road - home of Ashburton AFC.
TSL Division 2 - 2006/07 Season (30/06/07)
The Red Lion finished a dissapointing 7th in the Torbay Sunday league division 2 in the 2006/07 season, having struggled all season after becoming formed and were knocked out of all the cup competitions at the first hurdle.
Red Lion Ladylady (at the time) Tracy Dare established the Red Lion Football Club in 2006 and they were entered into the Torbay Sunday League Division 2 for the 2006-07 Season.
