FOLLOWING THE ROYAL STANDARDS WITHDRAWL FROM THE LEAGUE IN FEB 2010 THIS RESULT BECOMES A FRIENDLY RESULTS ONLY:
Herald Express 22/9/09:
Two fixtures in Division One ended in stalemates, there was no shortage of goalmouth action as Jackz pocketed a point from an enthralling 4-4 draw away to The George Inn, and Victoria Inn shared a six goal thriller with the Royal Standard at Ashburton's Chuley Road.
Victoria Inn, in fact, were cursing a missed penalty late in the game when Craig Teague wasted the chance to make it 3-3 after Royal Standard's Josh Briscombe had been red carded for allegedly handling the ball on his own goal-line.
Standard have already mailed a letter of protest to the league to claim it was an unfair dismissal, despite the fact the spot kick was squandered. They maintain the ball struck Briscombe in the chest.
As if to compound matters for Royal Standard, Victoria Inn did get their third goal when Adam Roussell pounced in the 86th minute to square matters. Earlier, Jamie Martin and Paul Mills had scored for Victoria Inn, while Jon Glasser, Daniel Machin and John Briscombe hit the jackpot for Royal Standard.

ROUSELL SAVES CAPTAINS BLUSHES
The Victoria started their league campaign off with a solid performance, all be it in the second half. Missing a couple of regulars the Victoria started with veteran Lewis Darke at full back, but his performance proved a safe choice for the Vic.
However the Standard started stronger and took the lead with some good build up play exposing the Victoria's left side, the Standard striker beating Malcolm Lee at the near post. The midfield was the battle ground in the game, and the Standards midfield pair took control and played in John Briscombe to double their lead. Further Standard chances came as they dominated, but the Vic 'keeper Malcolm Lee, kept his team in it with a string of top draw saves.
After the half time break the Vic shuffled the pack, Paul Mills was replaced by Jack Burt and Luke Martin pushed forward, with the message for more emphasis to play of the wings, the message seemed to work. The Vic pulled a goal back after Jamie Martin unselfishly played the ball across the goal for Hooton to tap in. Jamie Martin then deservedly got his goal in similar fashion, this time captain Craig Teague crossed having been put through by Burt, for Jamie Martin to tap in from close range, 2-2.
The battle continued in midfield and the Standard again took the lead, again exposing the Vic's week left side. But a goal mouth scramble at the other end with 5 minutes left saw the Standard 'keeper save brilliantly from first Teague, then Burt and finally Jamie Martin beat the keeper only for the defender on the line to handle the shot. He was subiquently dismissed, however the spot kick was agonisingly dragged wide by Craig Teague to the Standard's pleasure.
With a couple of minutes remaining the Vic pushed forward and won a corner. In desperation captain Teague called all his men into the area and a corner swung in by Luke Martin was converted by Adam Rousell, jumping higher than the pack to salvage a point for the Vic in the dying minutes much to Teague's relief.
This Sunday the Vic travel to Windmill Hill, Torquay to face Appleby's hoping to emulate their second half performance in the whole game.
