The club's first season in the Torbay Sunday League Division 1 was a tough season, although overall the club has continued to progress.
The season started on a high with a 4-3 victory over the then champions Applebys, in the TSFL Challenge Shield thanks to top goalscorer, Dan Grute with all 4 goals.
The club started a partnership with local diamond drilling & sawing company, 24/7 Diamond Drilling with them sponsoring equipment for the club and along with our host pub the Victoria Inn sponsoring the new home kit for the season.
Unlike last season there was no cup run. The Vic fell at the first hurdle of the Devon cup - now at senior level, going down 2-1 to Newton Orient. The other cup competition the Bill Matthews Cup saw a early defeat to the Artful Dodger.
The league saw a clear divide between the top 4 clubs anf the other 4, but after a few high scoring defeats the Vic finished 5th (top of the bottom half) thanks to important wins over the Artful Dodger, Applebys and Newton Orient.
The season was celebrated in style again at Dainton Park on 12/6/09 with the awards being distributed:
Player's Player - Dan Grute
Clubman - Adam Rousell
Managers Player of the year - Clint Teague & Chris Lewis
Most Improved - Matt Teague
Captain's Player - Ricky Worrall
Golden Boot - Danny Grute
Supporter's Award - Craig Teague
The whole team who attended also received a medal box presentation to keep from the Club for their efforts in the season.
